Nominee touts community coalitions, youth engagement for Sandy historic preservation committee

"As a committee member and also a resident of Historic Sandy, the biggest thing for me is really to provide my own opinion as a resident and ... to be able to work with other groups and entities to encourage historic preservation," Taylor said, describing ideas to digitize museum collections and create voter/constituent engagement around historic priorities. Council members asked how youth could be integrated; Taylor pointed to local museum resources and past research, including Sandy’s rose-nursery history, as tools for outreach.
Council members praised Taylor’s early involvement with the preservation community and said the appointment will be considered at an upcoming regular meeting. Lisonbee Stroud recommended colleagues review Taylor's resume and noted his prior engagement at local museum events.
No formal vote was taken; the item was presented as an information interview and will return on the council's consent or appointment agenda.
