Parks staff recommend switching camera vendor; council to cancel older contract and enforce volunteer clearances

Amy Lau and Borough Manager Michelle Poole presented options to replace and expand park surveillance. The minutes record: "Using the Advantage proposal, replacing the current (1) camera with (2) two cameras would be $4060 where CIA proposal to replace just the current camera would be $4093." Poole noted the CIA contract "was signed in 2017 and it was a 5-year contract, so we simply need to cancel this contract." Advantage would charge $5 per camera for monitoring and provide cloud access to three people.
The department also moved to tighten volunteer compliance after a coach ran clinics without required paperwork. The minutes state a coach "was advised he has until March 7 to get us all that information." Staff clarified that clearances are the responsibility of coaches and are free to obtain; the rec program informed council of total camera counts (three in the square, eight at the splash pad and one in the rec building) and scheduled a "Suds and Songs" organizers' meeting for March 19, 2025.
