The commission approved authorizing the county to sign a release in the updated opioid litigation settlement, with the county's expected allocation described as slightly more than $4,000. County Attorney Morgan Smith presented the firm's letter and recommended the county return the executed release to counsel by the May 4 deadline.
"The anticipation of the county's funds would be just a little over $4,000.00 and they are recommending the county sign this," Smith said. Commissioners voted unanimously to authorize signing. The funds are subject to the terms of the broader settlement and will be administered according to counsel's guidance.
