Adams County commissioners approved a new interlocal agreement with the City of Decatur that spells out roles and notifications for logjam removal and disposal.
Nate, a county staff member, described the agreement as formalizing a previous handshake arrangement and said it includes notification procedures, timing and indemnity terms while involving no direct transfer of funds. "This covers the logjam removal disposal agreement between the city and the county…There's really no money that's passing between the two," Nate said, adding the agreement renews annually and is intended to provide consistent expectations across administrations.
Commissioners asked how often logjams typically require clearing (Nate replied once a year in a normal year, more in bad years) and approved the agreement for signature so it can be taken to Decatur's city council for their concurrence.
