Selectmen plan culvert repairs, stream work and invasive-plant control for summer roads

Summer roads and stream work were a substantive portion of the July 22 meeting. The board instructed removal and replacement of riprap and a culvert on Canwell Hill, added Daniels Stream to the list for quotes and asked staff to reach out to Oxford County Soil and Water for assistance; Selectman Timothy Derouche said he would inspect a Main Street driveway corner that is being washed out because a culvert is missing.
The minutes record that the Medawisla culvert work is completed. For invasive species management the board reached out to four contractors and received three responses: one recommended hiring Steve Swasey, one suggested spraying herbicide, and a third (R&A Tractor) offered cutting for $875; the board voted 3-0 to have R&A Tractor do cutting this year. Bridge undermining work will be sent out for quotes.
