Planning Director Katie Gruenberg told the Commission that updates to the county Parks & Recreation Plan will highlight recent trail developments, stronger regional connectivity, and partner-group contributions (Snowbirds, Dirtbirds). She noted Chapter 2 narrative revisions will include economic‑benefit language and Tourism Authority statistics; community survey feedback continues to show strong interest in trails, beaches, and ORV accommodations.
Gruenberg also said county‑owned property considerations will not move forward at this time because of maintenance and liability concerns. She identified a potential ARPA allocation of $15,000 available for project match funding and said county support would be contingent on defined project plans. Commissioners discussed incorporating spur trails and coordinating with infrastructure projects such as US‑31 reconstruction.
