Ric Alameddine reported on behalf of Onekama Township that two grant applications have been submitted to support ADA walkway improvements: a Community Foundation grant for Langdon Beach and a Michigan DNR grant for Glen Park. Alameddine said the township is phasing trail planning along M‑22 but faces constraints including utility relocation costs and right‑of‑way limitations.
Commission members discussed the importance of emphasizing regional connectivity in the grant applications to strengthen competitiveness. The Commission encouraged coordination with the county Recreation Plan so that township projects align with county priorities and potential match funding opportunities.
