Chamber and staff propose one-way loop and parking changes at Maple Beach after festival crowding

Bennett Knox summarized an on-site review and proposed a potential solution that would convert a stretch of Bayview into a one-way loop to improve pedestrian safety, enable organized parking and create a more park-like upland edge.
Knox said the concept could be eligible for transportation study funding and outlined a next step to coordinate a scope of work with public works and the Chamber. Committee members suggested a phased approach: a focused study of circulation patterns and selective pilot experiments to test temporary changes before committing to capital work.
Staff and the Chamber agreed to coordinate on a grantable scope and return to the committee with a recommended approach for study and potential implementation.
