Members of the parks committee said they will meet to develop a written plan to support grant applications, including the potential addition of restrooms at Westside Park to make projects grant-eligible. A committee member said the village will invite a consultant who has worked with nearby communities and asked the mayor and finance staff for a snapshot of available matching funds in advance of the parks meeting.
The mayor confirmed a formal ribbon-cutting for Westside Park on Aug. 18 at 10 a.m., and councilors encouraged residents to attend a food-truck festival scheduled the coming weekend. Committee members said they are aiming to submit grant-ready plans at the Aug. 17 meeting when GAI and Ohio State make presentations to the council.
