Resident urges caution over EdgeConnex data-center promises; council member flags filing language

Later in council comments a member raised a separate concern about a filing by PowerConnex’s attorneys to the state power-siting board on July 31. The council member said language in paragraph 3 of that filing would allow the company to walk away from commitments if the company dislikes village actions or resident concerns, effectively turning promises into conditional enticements. The council member asked the company to withdraw or amend that language and to communicate with village leadership through appropriate channels.
Council did not take formal action on annexation or development at this meeting, but both the resident’s remarks and the council member’s statement signaled that any further annexation or approval processes for data-center projects will be subject to closer legal and contract review.
