Two members of the public addressed the Board during the public communication portion of the Sept. 17 meeting. Robin Larson, a VAPA teacher at PRIDE Academy, performed a back-to-school song for the Board. Teacher Jeniffer LaCross told the Board she is concerned about workload and "asked that the Board find ways to provide middle school teachers with prep-periods."
Earlier in the meeting President Burns presented certificates to Pathways Community Church and Sonrise Community Church volunteers for the 13th Annual School Beautification Day and played a short video of the event. The Board offered thanks to volunteers and staff involved in the community effort.
