McKinney City Council voted to approve a resolution appointing Candace M. Carlson as presiding municipal court judge, Antoinette Ayutay Ajin as an associate/contract municipal judge, and Peter J. Graham as an associate municipal judge, and immediately conducted an oath-of-office ceremony.
Mayor Pro Tem Felts moved to approve the resolution and Councilman Jones seconded; the mayor stated the motion carried. Mayor McKinney then led the swearing-in in front of the city seal. Presiding Judge Candace M. Carlson repeated the oath: "I, Candace M Carlson, do solemnly swear..."; Antoinette Ayutay Ajin and Peter J. Graham likewise repeated the oath and were thanked for their service by the mayor and council.
The resolution and ceremony were described by City Secretary Hauser as a formal appointment process with the city secretary administering the oath, and the council complemented the judiciary and court staff for their service. No formal roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript beyond the mayor noting the motion carried.
