Councilmember Cloutier: water tower to be repainted with existing logo; amphitheater progressing toward spring 2027

City Councilmember Patrick Cloutier updated the Visit McKinney board on several development items, including work on the amphitheater, the JW Marriott project and a planned rehabilitation of the city’s water tower.
Cloutier said the water tower will be refreshed, the existing logo will remain and the project will include lighting improvements and paint restoration to address structural cracks and lead paint removal. "Oh it's the old logo the logo that that's currently up there is going to be repeated," Cloutier said. He also said the amphitheater work is moving forward and that council has prepared for potential right-of-way and ingress/egress issues; he estimated projects are in good shape for spring of next year but cautioned that construction timelines can change.
Cloutier invited board members to a planned development webinar and said the city will need to make some appointments to a McKinney development committee to help coordinate industry needs and city processes.
