The board approved an out-of-state trip for the high school baseball team during spring break (motion by Travis Norton, seconded by Laura Reed) and separately authorized the Boys and Girls Basketball subactivity accounts to purchase shoes for HS varsity basketball players. The minutes specify that money for shoes may not come from concession revenue, school picture revenue or vending machine revenue because those funds are limited to public-purposes uses.
Both motions passed unanimously. The basketball account change was described as a modification of allowable “purposes” for subactivity accounts and the motion recorded in the minutes states it applies specifically to athletes on the HS Varsity Basketball Teams.
