Jeff Stalker, Nursing Home Administrator, reported that 59 nursing staff (CNAs, LPNs, and RNs) have been hired and retained since June 9, 2025. In the past month the facility recorded nine resident admissions and four discharges. Operational improvements underway include updates to orientation, conversion of the tray line, expansion of pub hours to 24/7 and implementation of a new nursing communication system.
Stalker said that, because of increased regulatory requirements after COVID-19, the combined Infection Prevention and Nursing Education Coordinator role is unsustainable and the facility proposes splitting it into two full-time positions to strengthen infection control and staff competency. The proposal will proceed through HR and administration and return to the committee for further consideration; no formal action was taken at the April 6 meeting.
The facility’s January and February income statements show expenses remain consistent and the nursing home is operating under budget for the year. The committee approved multiple related transmittals including an RFP award for a healthcare revenue-cycle consultant, a conference expense amendment, renewal of optometry services, and PRN therapy agreements.
