Mental Health Director reports steady operations, building upgrades and staffing changes

Sharon MacDougall, Director of Mental Health, told the committee that the department experienced a small (about 1%) dip in productivity last month attributed to weather and illness but that overall operations remain stable. Kate Nolin has assumed the role of Account Supervisor and presented financials showing stable operations.
MacDougall said building transitions are progressing, with some staff relocated to the second floor, and the department is exploring enhanced safety measures including expanded camera monitoring, restricted access points, and part-time security support. The committee approved (5-0) an authorization to adjust a psychiatrist’s salary and an amendment to the 2026 budget to fund building modifications shared with Public Works.
The department submitted its annual report for committee review and will continue to work on safety and operational improvements.
