Aspen swears in new police officer Marcin Dabriskie

Marcin Dabriskie took the oath of office at the May 13 Aspen City Council meeting and pledged to “support the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the state of Colorado, and the ordinances of the City of Aspen,” before committing to “thoughtful and professional services to any person seeking assistance from me.” Mayor Richards and council members welcomed Dabriskie and thanked the recruiting team for the hire.
The swearing-in was followed by brief remarks from Dabriskie, who said he appreciated “this opportunity.” Council members noted the importance of community policing and then proceeded to the scheduled public-comment period. The ceremony was administrative in nature and did not include policy decisions.
