Administrator reports on tornado damage, road work and planning outreach

County Administrator Lee Engfer briefed the Buffalo County Board on multiple operational and emergency-management matters during the April 21 meeting. Engfer said representatives at a recent Wisconsin Towns Association meeting included Emergency Management Director Steve Wall and new Highway Commissioner Gil Adams; he asked municipalities to contact Land Management staffer Briar Golden if they want input on the Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
Engfer also reported on recent tornado activity in the county, noting "there were no personal injuries, despite extensive damage to property." He said an updated county website should go live in the coming months, the county audit is ongoing, and that road construction will start shortly on the south end of the county along Highway 35 with sidewalk ramp work planned in the City of Fountain City.
