Council adopts amendments to zoning code on special uses, approvals and canopies

On July 6 the Crown Point Common Council unanimously adopted three zoning ordinances that amend rules on special uses, approval procedures, and canopy regulations (Ordinances No. 2026-06-14, 06-15 and 06-16).
The Crown Point Common Council adopted three zoning‑related ordinances on July 6, amending the municipal code sections that govern special uses, approval procedures and canopies. The measures — Ordinance No. 2026-06-14 (Sections 150.02 and 150.54), Ordinance No. 2026-06-15 (Sections 150.65–150.67) and Ordinance No. 2026-06-16 (Section 150.27) — passed on second reading by unanimous roll call votes.
Member Andrew Kyres asked whether there had been any changes to the ordinances since earlier readings; Mayor Peter D. Land said there were none. Votes were recorded in favor by Members Scott Evorik, Zack Bryan, Andrew Kyres, Bob Clemons, Laura Sauerman, Joe Sanders and Chad Jeffries.
Council members did not record additional amendments during the meeting; the ordinances were adopted as presented and will be incorporated into the Crown Point Municipal Code.
