Commissioners inspect new Trapper Road bridge, note dead trees beyond right-of-way

Vernon County Presiding Commissioner Joe Wilson and Southern Commissioner John Shorten inspected new bridge construction on Trapper Road over Drywood Creek on Oct. 15, 2025, and reviewed the approach roads, including 1300 Road north of Stockade Road. The inspections were recorded in the county commission minutes as part of routine infrastructure oversight.
Resident Doug Salkil reported the presence of dead trees near the bridge approach. According to the minutes, the commissioners determined that the trees are beyond the county right-of-way, and no removal action by the county is recorded in the minutes.
