Idaho Power presented a Community Resource Center (CRC) mobile unit concept to be staged with emergency managers during large outages. The CRC would offer charging stations for medical and electronic devices, phone access, monitored information and supplemental food and water for affected residents.
Jacklyn Black said the CRC is intended as supplemental support to traditional shelters and suggested Idaho Power showcase the unit at fairs and farmers markets to build public awareness and volunteer interest. Agencies at the meeting discussed coordinating staging locations with local emergency managers.
