District forms AI task force and teacher pilot to craft policy and pilot tools

Staff emphasized that the district will align its guidance to LDOE's AI recommendations while creating local safeguards for equity, ethics and academic integrity. The teacher pilot will have vendors train teachers, six weeks of classroom implementation, and follow-up debriefs; staff said they will return with a recommended policy and, if warranted, a purchasing recommendation in the spring.
The task force will also consider operational uses of AI across departments (HR, payroll, copy center) and produce training and professional-learning resources for staff and teachers.
