Nunda advises against long culvert at 1509 Poplar; board to vote on variance denial next meeting
Summary
Nunda Township Roads inspected 1509 Poplar and concluded additional continuous culvert would likely plug with leaves and silt and create maintenance costs; President Giles said the board will bring a motion to deny the variance at the next meeting and he will speak with the homeowners.

President Giles told the board that Nunda Township Roads inspected the driveway at 1509 Poplar and 'determined that the driveway culvert did not provide enough slope to include more pipe.' Nunda concluded that a proposed 100-foot continuous culvert would be too long to move water effectively and 'probably would plug with leaves and silt,' creating a maintenance burden and a potential expense for jetted cleaning.
Giles said the village will bring the matter as a motion to deny the variance at the next board meeting and that he will speak directly with the homeowners about the decision.
