Holiday Hills police outline vehicle-sticker enforcement, fireworks penalties and community safety reminders

Chief W. Copp briefed the board on department activity and community enforcement priorities. Since May 21 the department logged 30 calls, 17 traffic stops (with 21 total citations and one warning), one parking ticket and four McHenry County Sheriff Office calls. Chief Copp said the department will enforce the vehicle-sticker ordinance and encouraged residents to buy stickers rather than face citations.
On fireworks, Chief Copp explained enforcement steps: officers will make one courtesy call to a residence and request the activity stop; if a second call involves the same address officers will issue a citation and seize remaining fireworks. He also urged residents to check on neighbors — "Please check on your neighbors, especially the elderly in the upcoming hot weather prediction. If you need assistance, call 911." Chief Copp reminded the public to contact 911 for police response so dispatch creates documentation of incidents.
