Holiday Hills board approves pay raises, accepts officer resignation and notes equipment grants

Trustees approved previously discussed hourly raises effective May 1, 2025, accepted the resignation of Officer Svejcar effective April 19, 2025, and heard that a Taser grant check was received and three squad car ticket printers will be provided at no cost.
Chief W. Copp told the Board that from April 17 to the meeting date the department handled 50 calls for service, including 23 traffic stops (21 citations, two warnings), one parking ticket and seven calls handled by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. On a motion by Trustee Carol Stingel and second by Trustee Richard Young the Board approved hourly raises for department personnel effective May 1, 2025.
The Board also voted to accept the resignation of Officer Svejcar, effective April 19, 2025. Chief Copp said the county has approved the law firm ZRFM to handle local court proceedings for the village. Copp reported the ILETSB Taser grant check was received and that three squad car ticket printers will be provided by the county at no cost to the village; the printers will be used as spares. Copp said he is proceeding with a background check for a new officer candidate and tentatively plans a "Coffee with a Cop" event on or about June 22 at Village Hall.
