Dr. Teri Shaw, speaking to the Mokena School District 159 Finance Committee on March 23, presented an overview of the district’s five‑year operating projections across the district’s primary operating funds (10, 20, 40, 50, 70 and 80). The presentation included projected fund balances for FY2027–FY2031, aggregate revenue and aggregate expense forecasts and highlighted a multi‑year decline in available operating funds.
Shaw listed the projected fund balances and associated revenue/expense estimates for each year. "FY 2027 - $12,372,417," she reported for projected funds, followed by declining balances through FY2031. The projections also showed aggregate revenue climbing modestly from $26,851,323 in FY2027 to $29,330,297 in FY2031 while aggregate expenses rise faster, producing tighter margins in later years. The projections will inform upcoming budget discussions and board decisions on reserves and priorities.
