Superintendent highlights holiday programming, student recognitions and school break dates

Superintendent Dr. Ken Orling used his report to highlight school holiday programming and to thank staff for the semester. He asked viewers to tune to Channel 8 over the Christmas break to view programs hosted by district schools and said the programming schedule is on the district website.
Dr. Orling announced the student holiday break runs Dec. 22 through Jan. 6; staff will return Jan. 5 and students will resume classes Jan. 6, 2026. "Wish you a safe, blessed Christmas season and a healthy, happy New Year," he said.
Earlier in the meeting the board recognized the annual Christmas card contest winner (Komi Liu of Ethel Scheffner Elementary) and announced multiple student and coach honors across district high schools, including athletic and academic recognitions.
