Building and Grounds Committee favors purchased building as new HCCDC home after site visits

On March 17, 2025, the Hillsboro CUSD 3 Building and Grounds Committee toured multiple properties as it explored options for a new HCCDC home and reported back to the Unit Office afterward. Present were Committeemen Matt Lentz, Brian Patton and Blake Furness, along with Superintendent Powell and staff members Hope McBrain, Fred Butler and Tim Downen.
Committee members said they were "very interested" in the building they visited and discussed the possibility of purchasing that facility and adding on to it to house HCCDC. At the same time, the Committee decided not to ask the full Board to consider purchasing the county-owned property on Seymour Avenue, narrowing the set of sites the district will pursue. The minutes record that the visiting sites included the Building Trades house in Taylor Springs and the county property on Seymour Avenue. The meeting adjourned at 10:50 a.m.
