The St. Charles Parish School Board voted Dec. 10 to authorize the transportation department to purchase five regular 65-passenger buses and two special-needs lift buses under a state contract.
Chair explained the purchase is part of an ongoing effort to upgrade the district-owned bus fleet and that the request was reviewed at the Transportation Committee. A motion to approve the bus purchases was moved and seconded; the board approved the item unanimously.
Board members noted the purchases align with the district's strategic goals for transportation services and will support student transportation needs.
