Commission approves driveway and pool variances for Mount Plymouth and Leesburg-area properties

Planning staff presented two relatively routine variance requests. The Love Family Trust sought permission to replace an existing concrete driveway with a paver driveway that would run up to the property line (in lieu of the required 5-foot setback) in Mount Plymouth; staff said public works objected to the lack of setback but proposed construction conditions to preserve stormwater conveyance.
Owner Eric Love told the board his plan was to "remove and replace back to the exact setbacks" and that the driveway would remain within the permitted impervious-surface ratio. Commissioners approved the driveway variance. In a separate case, a Gifford property owner sought a pool and screen enclosure five feet from the rear property line instead of the required ten; staff reported the HOA architectural board approved the encroachment, and the commission approved the variance unanimously.
