Student groups and athletics updates highlighted; board approves two new G-level clubs

Student activities and athletics were a recurring theme of the Dec. 17 meeting. Student Council representative Parker Ennett said the National Honor Society raised just over $100 for St. Jude's through a Finals-week fundraiser and that the Sophomore Class has begun planning Winter Formal. GAIA and other clubs also reported events.
Athletic Director Andrew Walters said winter sports started well and noted several IHSA by-law changes that affect regional competition timing and co-op enrollment limits; he also said the district will schedule three athletic college signings after the holiday break. Separately, the board approved applications to recognize The Young Progressives of Hononegah and Art for Activism as G-Level clubs on a probationary basis beginning the second semester of the 2025–26 school year.
