Hononegah board signs off on facilities work, schedules Field House closures for repairs

District facilities and operations took center stage at the Dec. 17 meeting as administrators outlined several capital and maintenance projects and the board approved multiple vendor contracts. Michael Dugan reported that a Roscoe Bridge repair could cost about $3 million and that bridge work, when underway, could delay some students by roughly 20 minutes for travel. The board approved a Trane rooftop unit purchase from Ceroni Piping Company for $16,835.00 and a Cardinal Glass window replacement quote of $16,954.00.
Administrators noted plaster remediation is underway (room 2417 complete and about 10 rooms total), the Field House track will be repainted starting Dec. 20 requiring roughly 10 days of closure, and 25 main-entrance windows with blown seals are slated for replacement next summer. The board also approved a Salem Street entrance flooring proposal ($6,288.28) under the consent agenda to address slippery surfaces in wet conditions.
