Hononegah Board approves 2025 tax levy

The Hononegah Community High School District 207 Board of Education voted unanimously Dec. 17 to approve the 2025 tax levy as presented. Board President Dave Kurlinkus called the vote after the public hearing and the motion by Bob Geddeis, seconded by Mary Lewis, carried on a unanimous roll call of members present.
Finance Director Justin Krueger told the board year-to-date revenues are approximately $28.74 million, about 79% of expected receipts, and noted the district will file the 2025 Certificate of Tax Levy with the county clerks in Winnebago and Boone counties by Dec. 31, 2025, pending the board’s approval. The approval authorizes the district to certify the levy on or before the last Tuesday in December as required under state timelines. The board took no amendments to the levy at the meeting and approved it in the form presented.
