Town orders new signs and schedules follow-up on playground, trees and spigots
Summary
The council approved purchasing new speed-limit and sidewalk signs from a low-cost supplier that will deliver for free, and assigned staff to collect quotes for playground repairs, trees and broken spigots.
Raymond Fransen presented sign options (size, mounting hardware and costs) and recommended ordering signs from a state-shop supplier that would deliver for free. The board approved the purchase and the inclusion of delivery and mounting hardware.
Members then reviewed recurring maintenance issues: the playground slide shows a 'bubble' that may need repair or replacement, several trees require trimming or removal and a spigot near one property is worn. The chair asked Paul to prepare quotes for tree work and spigot replacement and to report back to the board so the council can approve repairs.
The board also approved routine housekeeping purchases (cleaning supplies, flags) and minutes and bills for July; these routine approvals were carried by voice vote.
