The board called Louie by phone to discuss arena improvements and a request from Randolph-area organizers to hold a roping event in Woodruff during the county fair. Louie said the group wants to use the Woodruff arena for the week of the fair and recommended either a temporary setup for this year or a permanent return alley in the future; he agreed to provide materials and pipe cost estimates.
Board members discussed bleacher options, grant opportunities and whether to apply for county funding for permanent bleachers. Members agreed a temporary return alley would be acceptable for this year and asked Louie to provide a written quote for a permanent return alley; the board will follow up on rental pricing and insurance for outside users.
The board also discussed the possibility of running the pavilion concession during the fair as a town-run or third-party concession, and tentatively supported exploring rental of the pavilion during the fair week once dates are confirmed.
