Council approves engineering agreement for Oakdale Trunk Sewer Improvements (2027)

Staff and City Engineer Scott Larson explained the work is the culmination of two previous infrastructure efforts—the Oakdale force main replacement and the West Land Use Area Central Trunk Sewer—that together required realignment and upsizing to handle redirected wastewater flows. Larson said, "This project is very critical but had to be put on hold until the force main issue was taken care of." The contract will allow design and preliminary engineering to proceed; the Council adopted Resolution No. 2026‑96 to approve the engineering agreement.
Larson also discussed local stormwater and recent rain events, noting design expectations for storm‑sewer intakes and that, in extreme events above the design (5‑ to 10‑year storms), streets may still experience surface flooding.
