Council approves Oakdale Overlook PUD‑A site plan and preliminary plat for mixed residential/commercial project

The City Council adopted resolutions approving the PUD‑A Site Plan and the Preliminary Plat for the Oakdale Overlook development at the northeast corner of Oakdale and Jones Boulevards.
Community Development Director Dave Johnson outlined the site—about 7.09 acres—with a proposed 63‑unit multi‑family building and four roughly 7,000‑square‑foot commercial shells. "After staff review there is adequate parking and traffic circulation provided; there are 115 stalls planned for the residential component…70 stalls for the residential component will be provided inside the building," Johnson said. Developer consultant Kelly Buckler told the Council the unit mix will be 34 one‑bedroom units and 29 two‑bedroom units and no three‑bedroom units are planned. Planning & Zoning recommended approval 6–0; the Council adopted Resolution Nos. 2026‑92 (Preliminary Plat) and 2026‑93 (PUD‑A Site Plan).
Council members asked about parking allocation and whether street parking would be allowed. Johnson said Oakdale and Jones are major corridors where street parking is not allowed. Johnson also said children in the proposed units would attend Eastview Elementary in the Clear Creek Amana Community School District.
