North Strand Recreation 10U wins state title; Horry County introduces deputy director of recreation

Horry County Council on Feb. 4 recognized the North Strand Recreation 10-and-under football team for winning the South Carolina Athletic Program state championship and invited the team and coaches forward for remarks.
"They not only won the lower state South Carolina athletic program, championship," Nicole Herrera, the county’s deputy director for recreation, said, thanking coaches, volunteers and parents. Ray Dunham, introduced by the chair, helped present the recognition and introduced Herrera as a recent hire.
Council members praised the team and encouraged continued participation; Herrera was introduced as deputy director after four months with the department and thanked the council for the opportunity to serve.
