Advisory board hears comprehensive-plan update; final public meeting set for April 28

Palermo said the plan has not been fully updated since 2007—8 and that the work will include revising goals, objectives and policies and updating the citys maps and analysis used to guide zoning and infrastructure decisions. "I'm Tony Palermo, the assistant director of community development," he told the board. He said the consultant will summarize public input and return drafts of the future land use and other elements to the planning board and staff.
The consultants final public meeting with the city was announced for April 28: "April 28 is is the date. It's at 4PM, and it's at Station 15 on Treeline Avenue," Palermo said. He encouraged board members and residents to review the draft future land use element and to contact staff or the consultants with further feedback.
Palermo and board members highlighted priorities for the update including housing, transportation, resiliency, parks and open-space provisions and Midtowns future land-use category. Palermo said updated capital-improvement and concurrency language will be part of the package to ensure the plan aligns with infrastructure needs and state requirements for local comprehensive plans.
