Middle-schooler recounts national BPA experience at QVSD board meeting

Teddy Tomlinson, who introduced himself to the board as "My name is Teddy Tomlinson, and I am 0.167 grader from InsideSchool of Washington," presented the Quillayute Valley School District with a recap of his chapter's Business Professionals of America (BPA) competitions and national leadership conference experience. He explained the multi-stage virtual competition process, the meta-certification exam and the club's virtual showcase, and described team entries in ethical leadership, social media marketing and multimedia production.
Board members asked about team size, travel and outcomes; Tomlinson said the middle-school team had three members and reported placements at nationals (one 11th-place finish and another 7th-place finish in different events). The board presented two QVSD shirts in recognition of the students' work and thanked Tomlinson for representing the district. "Thank you, everybody," Tomlinson said at the close of his remarks.
