Chief Louis Dominguez reported during the March 10 council meeting that the police department completed a first round of supervisor training and is receiving a new batch of body‑worn cameras as part of a contract upgrade that will come at no cost to the city. He said the Plaza cameras are still pending and that BP has given approval for cameras and monitoring at the Plaza.
The council also received February statistics from the Police Committee: C Tickets 5, LO Tickets 125, State Tickets 90, Written Warnings 197, Hometown residents cited 18, Misdemeanor Arrests 13, Felony Arrests 5, Traffic Stops 360, Total Incidents 235. Mayor Finnegan noted that Ramadan traffic at the Mosque has improved recently due to the use of the school parking lot.
