Resident Robert Tietz addressed council during the citizen’s hearing asking that language in Ordinance No. 9‑1988 be removed so he can build a garage. Tietz specifically asked to remove the sentence: "Provided further, no structures except division line fences shall be placed on said vacated property."
Mayor Frank Finnegan responded that the proposed garage would not impede sewer or water lines and said the city attorney will amend the ordinance. The council did not take a formal vote on the change at the March 10 meeting; the matter will be handled through the attorney’s amendment and brought back for consideration as required by ordinance amendment procedures.
