Commissioners review Fairgrounds Grandstand RFP process and SPARK/Entrepreneurial Center construction progress

County staff updated commissioners on procurement activity for the Fairgrounds Grandstand Project and construction progress at the SPARK/Entrepreneurial Center. Dan Robison reported that four proposals had been received for architectural and engineering services and four proposals for construction-manager-as-constructor services; a stakeholder selection committee will review proposals and provide recommendations after the county fair.
Robison also reported substantial construction progress on the SPARK/Entrepreneurial Center, including window installation, interior painting and site work, and noted roughly 30 membership commitments and inquiries about private office space. The board reviewed legal-advertising costs tied to the grandstand RFP and agreed the invoice should be paid and the previously discussed transfer between budget lines was acceptable.
