The Hometown City Council voted March 10 to authorize Mayor Frank Finnegan to sign an intergovernmental agreement with the U.S. Department of Transportation for the Federal Highway Administration Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Program. The Streets, Sidewalks and Municipal Building Committee brought the item forward and the council approved the authorization on a recorded roll call (AYES 9).
Mayor Frank Finnegan said the chargers will be installed "at the parking spots near the Fire Department" and that "the grant will supply everything to have the chargers installed." Jan Forney asked how many charging ports would be provided; the mayor responded that four ports were planned. The city will proceed with the IGA execution and coordinate installation details with Public Works.
