Legislature authorizes NYSDOT surplus application for small parcel in Village of Weedsport

The Cayuga County Legislature on March 24 authorized submission of a New York State Department of Transportation Surplus Property Application for roughly 2,550 square feet of DOT right‑of‑way adjacent to 8905 Seneca Street (Tax Map No. 83.05-3-24.1) in the Village of Weedsport.
The resolution, presented by Elane Daly, explains NYSDOT originally acquired the parcel from the county and is willing to abandon the area back to the county; NYSDOT requires a Surplus Property Application and an abandonment map before the county may accept the abandonment and consider disposition to the adjacent owner, B&B Solutions, LLC. The County‑Owned Real Property Committee reviewed and recommended submitting the application.
Motion was moved by Robert Shea, seconded by Tom Winslow and recorded 'all in favor.' The Chair was authorized to sign the application and to act on subsequent steps once NYSDOT completes its abandonment map.
