Jackson County opens sealed bids for two 2027 dump trucks; board takes bids under advisement

The bids read into the record were: Stoops Freightliner — $390,526.00; JX Peterbilt — $412,794.50; Ascendance Truck Centers — $378,593.44; Kenworth of Louisville — $459,022.00; and Sternberg International Truck Sales — $379,957.40.
After the bids were read, Commissioner Andrew Stauffer moved and Commissioner Drew Markel seconded to take the bids under advisement for further review. The motion carried on a 2-0 vote; no contract award or vendor selection was made at the meeting. The Highway Department will review proposals and return with a recommendation at a later date.
