The Cayuga County Judicial & Public Safety Committee approved a package of routine resolutions on March 11, including recognition of a county rope rescue team and several sheriff's office staffing and procurement authorizations. The committee recorded the votes as carried "all in favor."
Resolutions approved included JP-1, recognizing the Cayuga County Rope Rescue Team and abolishing prior related entities; JP-2, authorizing transfer of a 1996 United trailer to the Sennett Fire District; and a series of sheriff-related authorizations to fill licensed practical nurse, seasonal marine patrol, two deputy custody and one detective positions, to purchase two marked patrol vehicles, and to enter an amendment to the incarcerated telephone services agreement with Global Tel*Link Corporation d/b/a VIAPATH. The STOP DWI program agreement with the Auburn Doubledays for the 2026 season was also authorized.
The motions were moved and seconded by committee members (examples recorded in the transcript as "Motion by Winslow, 2nd by Pecher, all in favor"). No dissenting votes or extended discussion on these items were recorded. The approvals were procedural and will proceed to whatever subsequent approvals (if any) the County's process requires.
