The advisory board recommended four commercial property improvement matching grants across downtown and the Cleveland Corridor.
- Dylan Hissom & Associates (1937 Grace Ave) applied for a tier 1 grant to install new windows. The lowest estimate was $16,900; the board recommended awarding up to the 75% request of $12,675 and approved the recommendation.
- Optimum Care Southwest Florida (2023 Canal St) applied for mixed exterior repairs and improvements with a lowest estimate of $70,450. The applicant requested the program maximum of $50,000 (tier 1, 75% reimbursement) and the board approved the recommendation to award $50,000.
- Henderson Franklin (1715 Monroe St) applied for tier 2 exterior patching and painting with a lowest estimate of $220,000. Staff recommended, and the board approved, a $100,000 award because of funding availability.
- Naples International Film Company (2027 Monroe St) applied for exterior patching/painting, garage-door replacement and signage; the lowest estimate was $17,858 and the recommended award was $13,393.50. The property had prior grant awards for other improvements but the current request covers separate scope items.
Staff recorded grading-scale scores (range 24–38/50) and explained the new batch/grading process for prioritizing awards if demand exceeds funding. Board votes on each grant were voice votes and all four recommendations passed.
