Public Works Supervisor Travis Yost told the council that the town is preparing to install traffic cameras and is awaiting a state permit to proceed; he said the project has support from Senator Ben Queen.
A resident asked whether an additional speed bump could be installed near the existing one on Burton Avenue; Yost said that request will be added to the next meeting's agenda for formal consideration. He also said crews will paint curbs, crosswalks and hydrants this summer. Councilor Shawn Spurlock assisted with repairs after a recent water break at Clarksburg City Park.
No permit had been issued at the time of the meeting and the council did not vote on traffic-camera installation or any new traffic-calming measures during this session.
