Council tables ARPA purchases after resident raises deadline concerns

Resident Jennifer Robinson addressed the council during public comment to object to a proposed reallocation of ARPA funds from a property within the AML project, saying the move (she referenced $30,000) could jeopardize compliance with a 12/31/2024 deadline and risk the return of funds; the Treasurer was contacted for guidance. The agenda item under Unfinished Business listed the purchases as: "Purchase of radios – FUBAR Enterprises - $19,300.00 ARPA" and "Purchase of manlift – United Rentals - $35,000.00 total, $12,700.00 ARPA."
Councilor Charlene Louk moved to table the ARPA allocation item and Councilor Karen Phillips seconded; the motion passed unanimously. No further action was taken and the item will return to a future agenda for additional review and any needed fiscal clarification.
The council did not adopt a revised funding plan at the meeting; Treasurer Leslie Cummings or staff are expected to report back with guidance from the Treasury office and any required compliance steps.
